I made this as a present for my son, Cody. Gave it to him for Christmas. He is so into doing wood working It just seemed like the thing to give him. That was several years ago and he is still using it. Guess I am better at wood working than a lot of other things.

Note to everybody, the table legs are assembled using a half lap joint with pegs and glued for solidness. The top is made of two layers of 1/4 inch Masonite glued to a double layer of 1/2 cabinet grade ply wood. How’s that for solid…..

This view shows the side clamp I made into the table. Yes, the clamp works very well. Actually, the clamp was fitted using a standard bar clamp assembly available at any tool store. The outside wood band around the table is good old poplar. Just nothing like a hard wood to keep the table solid.
