The next step was to start tearing down the bike. I knew when I started this project that I wanted a springer front end. I picked this one up from Lowbrow Customs during a July 4th sale. I was a little concerned with it being inexpensive, but when I received it, I was pleasantly surprised. It had a really good fit and finish. The springer is 2 inches under stock and fits the height that I wanted for the front end. Between the shorter front end and the 16 inch wheel it was 3-1/2 inches shorter than stock, exactly where I wanted.
Picture 1 is basically the front end torn apart. Picture 2 is the springer front end I purchased. Pictures 3 and 4 are of the new front end mounted to the bike.
